Welcome on my website about our visit to Poland from September 8 - 11 2006. The main reason of our trip was to visit Auschwitz and Birkenau. We have also seen a lot of the beautiful city Kraków.

Our visit to the concentration camps have made an enormous impression. The most overwhelming was probably the emptiness and the silence in Birkenau and the incredible size of the camp. But also the display of countless personal items such as children's clothes, shoes, suitcases behind glass in Auschwitz were very gripping to see.
Even though it all happened over 60 years ago, the horrors still happen today, across the whole world. That is why it's so important that Auschwitz, Birkenau and the many other concentration camps will not be forgotten. That is why I would like to tell everyone, young and old, to visit them. Or read about them, tell your children about the Holocaust and watch the documentaries.
